25 Days of Christmas Movies Day 21: What's This? What's This? There's Magic in the Air

LAST MOVIE WATCHED: The Nightmare Before Christmas
TO WATCH OR NOT TO WATCH: I'll be honest, I almost elected not to include this in my blog series, but a few people asked about it, so here it is. It's not that I don't like the movie....I do, I just never feel like there's a good time to watch it! When it's Halloween I think, nah.....I don't want to think about Christmas yet. When it's Christmas I feel like it's too suited to Halloween! I'm a person who doesn't like mixing holidays.....especially holidays as polar opposite as Halloween and Christmas. But I can't deny that it's a classic in its own very unique and weird way. The music is fantastic, the story is original and it's certainly a visually interesting film. I must say though, I never know what to make of the moral of the story. "Don't try anything new kids. Stick to what you're good at! Or else everyone will suffer!"
EMILY RATING: 8/10
UP NEXT: Elf

I think it is more that we shouldn't do things that aren't our business...that are overstepping our bounds. After watching this again this Halloween, I think I will definitely categorize this as a Halloween movie instead of a Christmas movie. It just has that Halloween feel--except for the one scene where he goes to Christmas town. As for Peter, he is all about mixing the holidays. We just watched Ghostbusters, his choice, two days ago. :)

That is funny that Pete likes ghostbusters! Yeah, this is probably a bit more halloween. I remember when it came out, Sarah was really upset that Disney would make something so dark after little mermaid and beauty and the beast. It was a big deal! Denise, I seem to remember was also unhappy about it.

I just remember that it was something so different and out there. I still have only seen it one time.

I still haven't sat down and watched it from start to finish. I just haven't gotten into it.

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house,
Not a creature was stirring, not even Freddy Krueger...

Yeah, that doesn't strike me as a good mix. :)
