It's that time of the year again....

OCTOBER!!!! HALLOWEEN!!! Nothin' but those scary halloween-themed movies all month again :) Well...unless I happen to go to the theater and finally getting around to some good JGL lovin. But in the meantime, it's time for another post over on Courtney's blog again! My Top 10 Halloween favorites. I know you're so excited to read more Halloween themed posts, I only gave you 3 last Halloween! Haha! I have to say, that I feel like a bit of a cheat since every movie on my list I wrote about last Halloween...but what can I say, last year I had a pretty fantastic selection. So far this year I've re-watched 3 on my list, but I definitely need to watch some different ones this year. Any suggestions? Take to the comments below! But first head on over to the link below to check out my list! As usual, I'll give you a few hints..

And as a refresher, you can find my Halloween posts from last year HERE, HERE, and HERE.

One more side note....... HAPPY 20,000 views to me! HOORAY!

I still enjoy The Ring. And you know I love Young Frankenstein. Where't the love for Dracula: Dead and Loving It? Ha ha! I know that's not a masterpiece, but it's one of my personal Halloween cult favorites. Oh, and don't forget Clue. More of a murder mystery, but I always enjoy it around Halloween. You didn't mention The Nightmare Before Christmas. Not even in your honorable mentions! I was surprised. :) And I mentioned this on Courtney's blog, but although I know they don't deserve a spot on a top ten list, I still got scared to death by Disturbia and 1408 the first time I saw them!

I really don't like really, really scary movies. Don't like the adrenalin rush, the feeling of being of not having a controlled experience. It goes back to my childhood and Nightmare Theater. Just don't like the open ends and all that.

Given that, too bad you can't watch Midnight Hour, which was a family favorite.

Oh, and I don't like people jumping out and scaring me in real life either. :)

I didn't think The Shining was that scary, but the fact that I saw it as an adult and not as a kid who would be subsequently having nightmares for years afterward probably helped (that honor goes to Alien.) And I do love the ripoff that The Simpsons did all those years ago ("No TV and no beer make Homer something something...") Haven't seen Drag Me to Hell, but I'm thinking it might be time to finally watch it. I think The Others is a really good scary/Halloween movie (which you mentioned in one of your previous posts.) I love how it is still scary upon repeat viewings because you can now watch the movie from the perspective of the literal "others" in the house and be scared in a whole new way.

Honestly, this is probably my least favorite genre next to straight up blood & guts/torture porn movies. However, I like to watch Wait Until Dark (Audrey Hepburn in a tense thriller), What Lies Beneath (I think of it as a supernatural modern Hitchcock movie), and Signs (it has some good jumps, and I like Shyamalan(except The Last Airbender)) this time of year. On the lighter side, my 4 year old loves Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. Ok, I love it too.

I don't know how much you like the "found footage" genre, but I thought the original Paranormal Activity was fairly effective. I tried to make it the ultimate experience and watched it in the dark by myself. I ended up feeling a bit unsettled, but not really scared (at least that's what I tell myself).
